Top 10 Authors

Joss Stirling

The Benedict Boy’s series is my favourite series of books, the books have everything! Romance, suspense, villains and a slight paranormal twist!

The Benedict Boys are the seven sons with ESP (Extra Sensory Powers), each of the three books feature a different son as a co-main character. The books are about these boys trying to find their soulmates, each book is also set in a different location so you can travel the world with the characters.

These books are aimed at teenagers but can also be enjoyed by older readers.

Eva Ibbotson

I love all of Eva Ibbotson’s books.

Her different books are suitable for different ages, her older reader books (The Morning Gift, A Song for Summer, A Company Of Swans, Magic Flutes, The Secret Countess) are aimed at teenagers and above, whilst her other books are aimed at children.

I would recommend her children books to everyone – even older readers! I would recommend her books for older readers to anyone who likes a romantic story.

Cassandra Clare

Cassandra Clare writes YA Paranormal Fiction books, her ‘Mortal Instruments’ series is set in present day New York and follows the lives of teenagers fighting demons. The prequel series ‘Infernal Devices’ is set in Victorian England and links brilliantly to the sequel series.

I would recommend these books to anyone who loves paranormal books with extra suspense and tension!

J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter. Need I say more? Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry! Harry, Hermione and Ron! And of course, Voldemort!

If you haven’t read these books then you should rectify that problem immediately!

Patrick Ness

The Chaos Walking trilogy is such a brilliant series, starting with “The Knife Of Never Letting Go”, followed by “The Ask and The Answer” and concluded with “Monsters Of Men”. The series follows a teenage boy, Todd, as he escapes his old life and takes a journey of great discoveries.

I would recommend this series to any and all teenagers (or older) and both boys and girls!

Robert Muchamore

The CHERUB series is a fantastic series, they are very realistic books with great plots. The books follow a CHERUB agent on his various missions. The prequel series “Henderson’s Boys” is also a great series, following teenage espionage agents during WWII which also makes this series educational.

I would recommend Robert Muchamore’s books to all teenagers – both male and female. Due to mature language I would discourage younger readers from reading these books.

Rachel Caine

Rachel Caine’s “Morganville Vampires” series is a series following the lives of a group of teenagers living in a small town in Texas which is run by vampires, with the vampires comes a lot of trouble and the teenagers are always in the thick of it.

This series is a different take on vampires, and I would recommend to all female teenagers and even adults.

Darren Shan

“The Master of Horror” never disappoints! The Darren Shan Saga (otherwise known as ‘Cirque Du Freak’ series) is a series all about vampires and Darren’s journey in the life of the creatures of the night. This series had me laughing, crying and kept me on the edge of my seat. The Demonta series is another great series, about the fight against demons – the books take place across time, yet as the series reaches it’s conclusion links between the books become obvious. My favourite Darren Shan books is The Thin Executioner – the book centres upon a boys quest in his attempt to follow in his father’s footsteps and become the town’s executioner.

I would recommend Darren’s books to 11+ year olds, and only those who like a bit of horror in their books.

Malorie Blackman

Malorie Blackman’s “Noughts & Crosses” series is such an interesting series, showing an entirely different viewpoint on life. The series is very thought-provoking and makes you appreciate all you have. All of Malorie’s books deal with issues and they teach you a lot.

I would recommend Malorie’s books to any and all teenagers – due to mature issues the books are not suitable for younger readers.

Suzanne Collins

The Hunger Games are a great trilogy!

I would recommend these books to teenagers everywhere, adults can also enjoy these brilliant books! Make sure you read them in order though, or else you will spoil the series for yourself!

  1. I was just looking for this info for a while. After 6 hours of continuous Googleing, finally I got it in your site. I wonder what is the lack of Google strategy that don’t rank this kind of informative web sites in top of the list. Generally the top websites are full of garbage.
